Catalan Juniors Sports Tournaments
The Catalan Juniors are a series of sports tournaments organised by
SunSports Sports Tours and Tournament Services.
They are held several times each year in Catalonia, the autonomous region of Spain whose capital city, Barcelona, is probably best known in sporting circles for the 1992 Olympic games and the world famous F.C Barcelona.
The sports tournaments take place at various venues, mostly based on the Costa Brava near Girona, and at various times of year coinciding with the UK school holiday periods.
The sports tournaments are held for Rugby, Soccer, Hockey and Basketball with participants welcome from schools or clubs of any nation. A complete package is provided including sports tournament entry, full or half board accommodation, in-resort coach transfers and a day trip to Barcelona with a tour of FC Barcelona included. As an optional extra, teams can stay one more night and spend the day visiting the Warner Bros. theme park "Port Aventura".
A typical sports tournament itinerary would be:
Accommodation is based in the Palamos, Platja d'Aro, Lloret area, either in the ApartHotel Palamos with covered swimming pool (depending on time of year) or in the ApartHotel Sant Jordi. Other accommodation is available if requested.
Coach transfer times to the Rugby, Soccer and Basketball tournaments take 20 to 40 minutes. The Hockey tournaments take place locally and transfer times take 15 to 30 mins.
